Let’s face it; no one likes Valentines Day. As I sat in a bar in Dalston this evening, bitching about past loves and drunkenly rambling about future lovers, it occurred to me that the whole day is completely counter productive to love in general, for those that are removed from and it and those that still enjoy it’s company. Either you’re alone and miserable, or disillusioned by the pedestal on which your relationship now sits.
I’m not bitter though, I’m definitely not bitter.
Regardless of my opinions of the day, the ‘holiday’ brings with it a wealth of music. Either a cynical ploy to generate blog buzz and record sales, or an appropriate day to release a good old fashioned love song. Either way; here are our highlights.
